Lenita Freidenvall is Senior Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Political Science at the Department of Political Science, Stockholm University, Sweden, and Co-Director of the Women in Politics Research Network. Her research publications cover the fields of gender politics and public policy in comparative perspective, specialising in political representation, candidate selection and gender quotas. As representative of Stockholm University, Lenita is responsible for the electoral gender quota project (www.quotaproject.org) together with International IDEA and Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU). In 2014 she was commissioned by the Swedish government to investigate Swedish gender equality politics 2004-2014. She attended her first IPSA Congress in Durban, South Africa in 2003, and has been involved in the RC 19 since then.
